Organizers of the Happy Man Biters Upper west music awards(HMB-UWMA) on Saturday 29th November, 2022 paid a courtesy call to the Waala Overlord Wa Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV at his palace.
Speaking to the Wa Naa, his sub-chiefs and elders at the palace during the visit,
Theoperations Manager Mr. Nuhu Tuurosung, of the Upper West Music Awards (UMA)who led the team to officially informedthe overlord of this year’s edition of the Awards scheme.
He also stated that another reason was to solicit for support from the Wa Naa for the Traditional song and Traditional Artist of the year category.
The visit also gave the UMA operations Manager,the opportunity to explain how the awards scheme works, and also how the scheme wants to model the artist through this year’s theme ‘’Branding and Re-branding”.

The overlord of the Waala traditional area Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV in his speech interpreted by Katuo Naa, one of the elders of the palace expressed his readiness to collaborate with Upper west Music Awards (UMA)to promote the activities and programmes that will help to boost development in the region through music.
Wa Naa also advised that, UMA should encourage the Upper West musicians to sing in the local dialect in order to promote the region’s culture and tradition. He said music is important as it takes away our worries, whenever we listen to it.
The chief added that the Upper West Music Awards operations Manager Mr. Nuhu Tuurosung have been supporting the Dumba festival especially during the Artist night every year and that is to show how he cares about his land.
He urged the UMA team to continue with their good work and also continue to encourage the musicians to record good songs in other to promote the region.
‘’ I am glad you and your team have paid a courtesy call on me and my elders, such a thing have never happened before, I must commend you for taking that step. It’s a sign of peace.’’ He said.
The Upper West Music Awards operations Manager who doubles as the CEO for Echosoundz Entertainment Mr. Nuhu Tuurosung, Representing the Marketing team, Abu Issah (Nel Gee), UMA PRO Abdul Ganiu known as Fashion king and Iddrisu Dasana from the technical team were the delegates who represented UMA at the Wa Naa’s Palace.
