UMA Pays Tribute to Gamewbwoy Waluu as He Marks 1st Anniversary of His Death

A Year after Gamebwoy Waluu’s demise, the upper west music awards has paid soulful tribute to the family of the musician on 30th January, 2023 at Jejeidayiri in the regional capital of the Upper West Region.

Leaving the entire region and the nation at large devastated, the young champion, Gamebwoy Walauu (Farid) passed away at age 26 on 9th October, 2021 last year.

The visit led by the CEO and founder of UMA, Nuhu Tuurosung (Echo Sounds) was accompanied by the board members, organizing committee, communications department and the media.
The family welcomed the crew and addressing the gathering on behalf of the family, the spokesperson of the family thanked the UMA Crew for the love shown and urged the crew to still dwell in unity as he describes the visit as one of the greatest moment to remember their beloved son and what he left in the entertainment and creative arts industry in the region.
‘’ this has made us proud, even in the absence of Gamebwoy Waaluu, you still remember his worth, may you continue to dwell in unity’’.

The CEO, adding his voice said ‘’Gamebwoy’s death is a huge loss not only the dancehall fraternity or the music world but the entire nation. The emotions displayed by the people of the upper west region following his death is an indication of the impact Waluu has made within the years he has been on the scene. His memories remain in our hearts, he would have filled or won some categories and would have actively participated in every activity of the scheme like he did before his sudden departure. Once again, we wish to convey our deepest condolences to the family. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace and on the arms of the Allah’’.

3 bags of rice, oil, a box of soap, boxes of tea bags, sugar, an undisclosed amount of money among other items were given to the family to support the up keeping of the late musician’s son.
The Award- Winning Dancehall Artiste died last year in his Room at Jejeidayiri, a suburb of Wa late hours of 9th October 2021.
