The arrival of Nkyiraahene to the Opening

The MƐKƆ Bono Homecoming and Festival 2024 kicked off with great fanfare at the picturesque Techiman Methodist Park on August 5th. This highly anticipated event celebrates the cultural heritage and community spirit of the Bono East Region in Ghana.

      Colorful Procession: The festival began with a colorful procession featuring traditional dancers, drummers, and beautifully adorned floats. Participants proudly showcased their Bono heritage through intricate costumes and captivating performances.

Welcome Speeches: Community leaders and festival organizers delivered heartfelt speeches, emphasizing unity, pride, and the importance of preserving Bono traditions. They expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the festival a reality.

Food and Delicacies: No festival is complete without delicious food! Attendees savored mouthwatering Bono dishes, including fufu with light soup, Sobolo and palm wine. The aroma of 3t) (mashed plantain) filled the air

Live Music and Dance: As the sun set, the celebration continued with live music performances. Highlife bands, , entertaining the crowd. The dance floor was alive with joyful revelers moving to the rhythm.

The festivities will continue until August 11th, with a diverse lineup of events, including Trade Fair, health screenings, Akom Day,Artiste Night with Amerado and the Grand Durbar and more cultural showcases. The Face of ‘Bonofie’ beauty pageant promises to be a highlight, celebrating the grace and intelligence of Bono women.
