The Hon.Assembly member for SOE/YIPAALA Electoral area in the Bolgatanga Municipality of the upper East Region,Hon.Justice Aduko has organised a career and guidance sensitisation program for the BECE candidates for St. Joseph JHS at SOE and Yipaala JHS in his Electoral area on the 24th May,2024.
The occasion was graced by the chief of Yipaala Naba Stephen Abaane Aloko , municipal education personnel and other dignitaries.
According to the Honourable assembly member, the initiative is to encourage and motivate both teachers and students especially the BECE candidates in the Soe /Yipaala Electoral area so that they would take their studies very serious and be able to perform excellent in their academic work.
The Hon.also made some donation to support the BECE candidates in the Electoral area,
the items include, boxes of pens, boxes of pencils, mathematical sets, long rulers, exercise books.
By showing a kind gesture to parents and students of Yipaala Electoral area, Hon motivated some past students with awards which includes certificates and citations to best performing students.
He also explained that, Soe/Yipaala name has been associated with criminality for the past years due to school drop-out, lack of parental care, financial constraints and among other challenges facing parents in his Electoral area, so he needs to do something different in terms of teachers-students motivation to help the students pass their SHS and proceed to the Tertiary institutions.
Stressing on the roles of parents in the child academic performance, Hon.has said that, psychological and environmental factors can influence the performance of students academically.
Hon. Justice has also indicated that, steps are far advanced to organise extral classes for his people and he again promised given the students of Soe/Yipaala additional time for studies by organising some extra classes for the BECE candidates.
The assembly member, has mentioned some of the areas he wishes to tackle; such as, parents should task their wards to study hard, to have a session with parents about their children career, motivating teachers and also one on one system of supervision and others measures to ensure academic Excellency among students in the Soe /Yipaala Electoral area.
