The Upper West Creative Arts Awards 2020 finally went down at Sem-B lodge here in Wa, the Upper West Regional capital, on the 13th Of June, 2020. The Sparkling and captivating Awards night was organized by WhiteSpot Event to recognise and reward Artworks, Artists/artistes, DJs, Actors/Actress, Models, Bloggers/Broadcasters and all other personalities in the Showbiz fraternity for their emense contribution to the growth of the Creative Arts industry in the region. The event saw a host of entertainment gurus gracing the occasion.
You would recalled that entries were shortlisted for the Art Awards after it was launched earlier this year and voting started thereof. The Event which was scheduled to place in March had to delay till 13th Of June, 2020 because of the havoc caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The Event started as scheduled with a performance from the talented rapper and singer El- Twist Dagara. The MC for the night was our own Mr L and his partner B-Kay. Behind the console was the most-loved Village boy DJ Galaxy that blended the Upper west hit tracks to the admiration music lovers.
There was a red carpet and photo shoot sessions, musical interludes, performances from El-twist, Ras Badingu, Reezybwoy, Glee Geezy, Abesig and Stunner Gh among others. The notable and outstanding performance that got fans jamming to the beat was big brother Imoru Ayaana who has over the period proven consistency and creativity in his music and stagecraft.
The event saw the honoring of legends and key players in the Creative Arts industry in the Region. Some of the honorary awardees were Echo Soundz, DJ Obidi, DJ Dery Gee amount others, On the competitive Awards schemes, Xpressghonline, Stunner Suntaa and Ras Badingu won blogger, album and vocalist of the year respectively.
