On Tuesday at Dondoli in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region, a 4-year-old kid drowned in a well while playing with his friends.
The incident occurred when the youngster, Abdul Wahab Majeed, stumbled into an unlocked well.
The area’s well was created to provide water for household needs, but it was frequently left with the lid off, posing a serious risk to kids who naturally wanted to play outside.
The terrible incident took place on Tuesday in the late afternoon, according to the boy’s uncle, who told the reporters.
The Ghana National Fire Service was able to recover the body and deliver it to the police for a postmortem before burial.
The Regional Fire Police’s ADO Tahiru Mubarik bemoaned how dangerous it is for people and animals to live so close to the well.

He attributed the boy’s death to the neglect of residence who disregarded their own safety.
“It’s an eye saw, look at somebody’s door and where the well is, and you have been living like this for more than a decade. It’s painful. Help us to ask help you…… You should be able to see danger and help yourself out of it. Look at what has happened today. Pathetic. Somebody probably, he should have been the next president of Ghana. But put carelessness, negligence has caused this death. This young star was coming up.” He observed.
ADO Tahiru Mubarik further lamented the absence of access roads in a densely populated location like Dondoli, which makes it challenging for the Ghana National Fire Service or Ambulance Service to respond to crises.
“Look at the access roads……. Imagine if there was a fire outbreak. It will spread all over the place. We laid about 10 hoses before we got to the incident.
