A Toyota corola car sent to the Wa Magazine for welding and fabrication services on April 10, 2021 has been burnt to ashes and three adjourning mechanic shops razed by the fire.
According to an eyewitness Wahid Balawa, the incident happened during the wielding process. Adding that the electrical fire sparkled and became intense getting the petro car engulfed with blazes. The ravaging fire could not spare the three shops closer to the car despite attempts by the Magazine workers to put out the fire.
Some eyewitnesses at the scene attributed the cause of the fire to the failure of the wielder to take off the car’s battery wires (terminals) before starting with the electrical wielding on the vehicle.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Fire Service who could not get into the scene early met the vehicle and the 3 shops razed but due to their efforts the ravaging fire was stifled saving other closed by shops.
This is the second fire incident recorded at the Wa Magazine this year alone, it will be recalled that on January 31, 2021 a fuel tanker partly exploded killing two people, one died instantly and the other one died at the Wa government hospital the next day.
However Saturdays’ fire incident did not record any fatalities also efforts to speak to owners of the shops, Yakubu Tendaana, Master Ani and the other proved futal.
