YEA Sends First Batch of Skilled Ghanaian Artisans to Dubai Under Work Abroad Initiative

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA), in partnership with the Ministry of Labour, Jobs & Employment and the Ministry of Youth Development & Empowerment, has effectively deployed the first batch of skilled Ghanaian craftsmen to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, under the YEA Work Abroad Initiative.

Before departure from Kotoka International Airport, Accra, beneficiaries went through a rigorous pre-departure orientation, exposing them to workplace ethics, cultural sensitization, safety, and professional etiquette required in the international world of work.

These young craftsmen, who have been selected from different technical fields, have been awarded two-year work contracts with stable companies in Dubai. This is a historic step that marks a milestone in Ghana’s battle against unemployment among the youth because it offers global job lines for Ghanaian skilled labour.

YEA Work Abroad Programme continues to be a life-changing experience, providing international exposure, economic empowerment, and professional development for Ghanaian youth while sending Ghanaian talent abroad.

Hoping against hope, additional batches will come shortly, giving hope to thousands of budding youths across the country.
