The Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Council, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II, has passionately called on the leadership and members of the Bono and Ahafo Students Union (BASU) to uphold their role as ambassadors of the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions.
In his address, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II urged students to remain confident in their leadership roles and continue expanding BASU chapters to other institutions across the country. This, he noted, would help the union strengthen its presence and influence among the youth.
He emphasized the importance of **unity, active participation, and purpose-driven leadership**, encouraging BASU members to educate themselves about their **Bono and Ahafo heritage, especially the Bonokyempem Council, to foster cultural pride and awareness.
Odeefour also highlighted the crucial role of collaboration between **traditional leadership and student bodies** in driving forward education and development in the region. He stressed the need to build stronger ties between the youth and traditional authorities to preserve the region’s cultural values while adapting to modern challenges.
He charged BASU leaders to promote unity among students from the three Bono regions and ensure that the younger generation remains connected to their roots and heritage.
