Health authorities in Karonga have decried inadequate resources as one of the factors forcing the facility to provide meals to patients once a day.
Senior Nursing Officer at Karonga district hospital, Yusuf Salimu disclosed this to Zodiak Online today when a Songwe border based businessman Blessings Chimbalanga donated assorted items worth over K300,000.00 as part of celebrating his birthday.
According to the hospital’s director of health and social services, David Sibale, the 23 million kwacha that the facility gets per month as ORT is not adequate to carter for all its needs.
On his part, Blessings Chimbalanga emphasized the need for various stakeholders to join forces with government by alleviating challenges public health facilities face.
