Healthway Foundation annual New Year celebration with Wa Central Prison Inmates and People with Mental Health Conditions

Healthway Foundation end of year dinner with the inmates of Wa Central Prison happened on the 7th of January ,2024 at the Wa Central Prison Yard with a lot of resource people including the Principal state attorney, Lawyer Saeed Abdul Shakur, the Regional Commander of the Prison Service, the Regional GES Director, Mr Abdul Razak Korah, the Wa Municipal Health Director, Dr. Alex Bapula, the Regional NADMO Director, Mr. Ahmed Mustapha , the Deputy Regional Chief Imam, ASWAJ , Sheik Ahmed and many other important dignitaries were present.

Through the generous contributions and efforts of Healthway Foundation, we provide essential food packages to the inmates of Wa Central Prison every year. This initiative aims to ensure that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has access to nutritious meals during the holiday season and beyond. Together, we strive to make a positive difference in the lives of those who need it most.

This year’s event did not only feature the Wa Central prisons alone, but Bahass Foundation was included where people with mental health conditions were also fed with fully packed, variety of nutritious food was served (Rice, Banku, Wakye) drinks with good music to cool of the stress.

At the Wa Central prisons, it was a great delight to see the euphoria and the joy on the faces of the inmates when various resource people spoke to them on Health, Education, Religion and the law respectively.

The CEO of Healthway Foundation, Hajia Reyana Hafiz Bin Salih was full of joy and praise to the almighty Allah for another year. She indicated her Foundation will continue to visit the prison not only to dine with them but to as usual solve some of their challenges .

Aside the food donation, the Foundation also donated some reading materials to the Prison command to help the inmates strengthen their reading skills even in prison.
