On October 30, 2024, the Honourable Assembly Member for Tankyara/Kuselle Electoral Area, Mabkuu Sampson who doubles as the Regional Director for Ghana Library Authority Upper West Region, embarked on a heartfelt “Thank You Tour” to express his appreciation to the communities who supported his journey to office. His tour covered the communities of Tankyara, Doutang, Donkuolu, and Magtange, where he connected with residents and acknowledged their collective efforts in electing him.
In his visits, which spanned October 31 to November 3, 2024, Hon. Sampson expressed his gratitude, emphasizing the challenges that delayed his tour. He acknowledged hearing concerns from constituents who felt his presence was missed since his election, assuring them that he had been addressing essential issues that required his attention first. He clarified that the Municipal Assembly meetings are held three times a year, keeping him regularly involved in broader municipal affairs on behalf of his electoral area.
Throughout the tour, Hon. Sampson updated each community on the progress made so far and his plans for future developments, asking for feedback and suggestions. His commitment to listening and understanding the needs of each community was a clear demonstration of his dedication to ensuring positive changes across the Tankyara/Kuselle Electoral Area.
As a token of his appreciation, Hon. Sampson contributed to the welfare and improvement of his constituency by donating essential items to each community. His donations included:
- One street light and GH₵200 for each community.
- Five plastic chairs specifically for the Magtange community
- Refurbishment of all street lights in Kuselle to improve night-time safety.
These contributions are just the beginning of Hon. Sampson’s promise to work diligently for the people and the development of the electoral area.
Beyond his donations, Hon. Sampson engaged community members on essential topics, including cleanliness and peaceful coexistence. He urged residents to keep their roadside areas clean to enhance the community’s environment and public health.
