The WumpinCares Foundation, under the leadership of CEO Abdul Hafis Wumpini, recently made significant strides in improving the lives of children at Sanuori Primary School in the Wa West District. On our latest visit, our team was moved by the sight of students walking barefoot to school, prompting us to extend our support beyond the initial school uniforms donation.
Our visit began with a mission to provide ten sets of uniforms to the students of Sanuori Primary School. Uniforms are more than just clothing; they symbolize equality, belonging, and pride. The joy and excitement on the children’s faces as they received their new uniforms were truly heartwarming. However, it quickly became evident that our work was far from over.
As we interacted with the children, we couldn’t ignore the glaring issue: most of the students were barefoot. This stark reality led us to initiate a new project, aiming to provide proper footwear for these young learners. Walking barefoot not only poses health risks but also affects the children’s confidence and overall school experience.
Driven by the desire to make a tangible difference, WumpinCares embarked on a sandals project. Through generous donations and community support, we successfully raised 40 pairs of school sandals, 15 for boys and 25 for girls. The distribution of these sandals was a moment of triumph, as we witnessed firsthand the positive impact of our efforts. The smiles and gratitude from the children and their families reaffirmed our commitment to this cause.
Despite these accomplishments, the situation remains worrying. Many children are still without uniforms and proper footwear. The sight of kids continuing to walk barefoot to school is a constant reminder of the work that still needs to be done. It is our mission to ensure that every child in the locality has access to basic necessities that can enhance their educational experience.
