New Zealand and Fiji defender Sham Chetty has officially joined Tauranga City AFC on a free transfer.
After a successful spell with Hamilton Wanderers AFC, where he showcased his versatility and skill, Chetty made a move to further his career with the Tauranga City based club.
The 21-year-old arrival is expected to add depth and creativity to Tauranga City AFC’s squad for the 2021-22 season.
With over 20 appearances at Hamilton Wanderers AFC , Chetty can play in various positions, including left-back and defensive midfield.
Reacting to the transfer, Chetty expressed his readiness: ” Tauranga City is a big club, I am super excited to join this historical club and ready to give my all in training and matches. I have been watching videos of the club games and super amazing fans.”
Chetty left Hamilton Wanderers AFC by mutual consent last month, signing a one year contract with Tauranga City AFC after a series of test matches.
The 178cm defender was born in Tauranga City but holds New Zealand and Fiji nationalities.
