Ghana earned reputation for producing young footballers led by Peter Ofori Quaye in recent times. The West African powerhouse showed their youthful prowess with four straight appearances at the U17 grand finale in the early 90s. The latest in the production chain is currently blazing the trail with Asante Kotoko SC known as Mathew Anim Cudjoe.
Already rerouting traffic onto himself with some world class artistry usage of the ball, little Murad is already turning heads with his wizardry. Born in a typical African community in the upper west region , Iddrisu Murad only needs the platform to explode into one of the fine midfielders Ghana has ever produced.
Background
Iddrisu Murad is a denizen of Nadowli in the upper west region but was born and bread in Konta, a suburb in the upper west. The teen dynamo joined Wa Future Stars FC as a seven old boy and rose to become the skipper of the side in his short football career thus far. Pundits and experts of the game have unanimously tipped him to lead the Black Stars in the not too distant future.

Attributes
The box to box midfielder comes with large reservoir of energy for his foetal age. An ambidextrous midfielder blessed with explicit usage of ball deep midfield position. His instinctive passing range is being spiced with unexpected volleys and screamers as seen in his rare goals. Usually compared to Sergio Busquete of FC Barcelona, Iddrisu Murad sums up the description of modern day midfielders thanks to his vision with and without the ball.
Ambitions
Like any young and upcoming footballer, Iddrisu Murad dreams of wearing the Ghana national jerseys and representing the country at major tournaments. His long term dreams as a footballer is to grace the Camp Nou as an FC Barcelona player.
“My immediate dream is to get the opportunity beyond upper west region to showcase the world what I can do as a footballer. I thank God for giving me this unique talent but I must work hard and stay grounded to succeed as a footballer. Talent is part of the story but more than talent is needed and I am using other talented footballers who failed to make it to the top level as my motivation to stay committed. When the world hears of Iddrisu Murad, they will remember him for his exploits on the pitch”, Murad told 442gh.com exclusively.
He added, “I can’t imagine wearing the Ghana national jersey and representing my country at any major tournament. It will be the height of my career but I am sure it is only a matter of when. All I ask for is just the opportunity and I will handle the rest”.
Iddrisu Murad formed a fearsome trinity of midfielders for Wa Future Stars FC in what is expected to torment many clubs in the upcoming regional leagues. He succeeded at the Juvenile level and will need to up his game to succeed at the third tier level. Remember the name, Iddrisu Murad.
