Wa Senior High Technical School(Wa Sec Tech) is a coeducational second-cycle institution at Wa in the Upper West Region of Ghana. The school which was formerly called Wa Secondary Technical houses both day and boarding students at its premises and is precisely located at Konta opposite the Ghana Water Company.
Sunday, January 22, 2023, between the hours of 8:00 to 9 pm the Girl’s Dormitory was razed with Fire.
Some students, who are occupants of the dormitory got the alarm from one of their mates who run to them whiles they were in class to observe Prep.
The students also confirmed an initial power outage before the incident of the fire took effect.
8 Female students have been rushed to the Wa municipal hospital by the Ghana Ambulance Service who got shocked by the incident.
Meanwhile, no major casualties were recorded from those who were hospitalized
Besides the Ghana National Fire Service was at the scene on time, to rescue the students and fight the fire and eventually brought the situation under control.
