The Upper West Regional Police Command in a press release dated 28th July, 2020, are on a hunt for suspects spotted in the viral video who were seen assaulting a young man and a woman at a hotel.
In a press release signed by Inspector Gideon Ohene Boateng, the PRO of UW Ghana Police, it is stated that the location has been identified and some people have also been invited for questioning and to assist the police to identify the perpetrators.
The 2.39 minutes video saw some four angry and charged men beating and dragging a young man and woman from a room ( now identified as a hotel). The men beat and stripped the young naked in front of a camera. This action came under widespread condemnations with many calling for justice for the two who were physically abused.
The Regional Police command is therefore urging the general public to desist from taking the law into their own hands by brutalizing for offense deemed to have been committed but rather, arrest and send them to the nearest Police Station for necessary action.
