The overlord of the Waala traditional area Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV in his speech through Katuo Naa, one of the elders of the palace agrees to support the 2023 Upper west Music Awards traditional song of the year.
Wa naa made this known during a visit by the UMA board to his palace.
The overload added that his support for the Traditional song of the year category is to encourage the Upper West musicians to sing in the local dialect in order to promote the region’s culture and tradition.
He urged the UMA team to continue with their good work and also continue to encourage the musicians to record good songs in other to promote the region.
The Upper West Music Awards operations Manager who doubles as the CEO for Echosoundz Entertainment Mr. Nuhu Tuurosung, speaking on behalf of the team thanked the wa naa for his decision to support the traditional song of the year category.
He also pledged to the wa naa that the award scheme will be credible in awarding deserving artistes who work hard over the years in their music career in promoting the culture and tradition of the region, adding that, no one will be cheated at the end.
